Worx headquarters achieves BREEAM In Use Good certification

The Palacete Duque d’Ávila, an architectural gem dating from 1913 located in the heart of Avenidas Novas in Lisbon, recently achieved the coveted BREEAM In Use Good certification.

With an area of 900 sq.m, the Palacete Duque d’Ávila comprises two above-ground floors and a basement floor. The original project was designed by the architect Luiz Bernardo de Silva Estrela, the original owner, and it’s an illustrious example of the architecture of the time.

In 2005, the building underwent a refurbishment process that restored its interior and preserved its original façade. In 2017, Worx Real Estate Consultants leased the building and, in partnership with the Ricardo Espírito Santo Foundation, carried out an additional intervention focussed on its restoration, given that it was already important for Worx to try to align the rehabilitation of a building like this with sustainability criteria. We can therefore say that the effort made five years ago is still reflected in the results obtained today.

Today, the Palacete Duque d’Ávila serves as the headquarters of Worx Real Estate Consultants, offering fully adapted office and meeting spaces while maintaining its original architecture. The result is several exceptional and imposing working environments that create a unique atmosphere for employees and clients.

The achievement of BREEAM In Use Good certification represents an important milestone for Worx Real Estate Consultants, as it is committed to adopting sustainable practices and reducing its carbon footprint. This certification reflects the company’s ongoing concern to combine the preservation of historical heritage with the pursuit of environmental excellence.
