Student Housing
We create opportunities
The student housing market took its first step in 2015 when the first profissinalised national operator, U.Hub, opened its first space in Alameda in Lisbon. At that time, most of the offer was characterised by rooms managed by private owners and religious entities and universities. It was later, with the entry of the first international chain in Portugal, Collegiate, that triggered a stronger development of the sector of purpose-built student residences (PBSA – Purpose Built Student Accommodation) with high quality standards. These are distinguished by the spaces offered (games rooms, library, cinema, swimming pool and others), and by the additional services (laundry, cleaning, security and others).
The reputation of Portuguese universities, the growing number of courses taught entirely in English, the safe climate and the low cost of living are the main factors favouring the arrival of foreign students in Portugal, who are the main target of student residences. The main countries of origin of these students are Portuguese-speaking countries, namely Brazil, France and Italy.
