The Duque d’Ávila Palace, located at 38 Avenida 5 de Outubro, in Lisbon, is a noble building in the heart of Avenidas Novas, dating from 1913. With 900 sqm, the building is spread over two floors above ground and a basement floor. The original architectural design of this emblematic building was signed by Luiz Bernardo de Silva Estrela, the initial owner.
In 2017, the building was acquired by Worx Real Estate Consultants, which was responsible for a new intervention. This was a joint work by the Worx architecture and construction team and the Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation. This renovation focused on the recovery of the paintings, frescoes and fabrics that decorate this elegant space, but also on adapting the space of the Duque d’Ávila Palace to an office layout.
Also at this stage, the color of the façade was changed, which now stands out for its sharp contrast, which enhances the grandeur of the mansion.
Currently, the Duque d’Ávila Palace serves as the headquarters of Worx, being adapted to office and meeting rooms, but with the total preservation of its original design, which results in elegant and imposing spaces, which provide a unique work environment. .
On the basement floor of the Duque d’Ávila Palace, remodeling works were also carried out, having this space been transformed into an art gallery, fully prepared to receive the most different types of exhibitions, and with independent access from the street. Worx’s intention is that this space can be used to introduce the new generation of Portuguese artists.
