Espaço Docas is an office building in Alcântara, next to the port of Lisbon. A place of arrival and departure for the great liners that made history on the Atlantic crossings during the first half of this century, the Alcântara Docks play an important role in the operational structure of the port of Lisbon.
The neighborhood developed along an axis parallel to the River Tagus, between Avenida Infante Santo and Belém, with a strong Lisbon personality and very much marked by its working-class past. The process of industrialization gave way to the reverse process and a profound social transformation, most of which are now residential and business buildings.
